Who is Karen-Lea
Karen-Lea completed her interior design diploma in 1992 at the Scheffield School of Design In New York City and graduated with a marketing degree from George Washington University in Washington DC in 1985. She lived and worked overseas in Bangkok, Thailand, Washington DC and New Jersey, USA for 14 years before returning to Sydney, Australia.
Karen-Lea commenced her colour and design business over 20 years ago in Dubbo in 1997.
As a child she always enjoyed making cubby houses out of any materials available. Karen-Lea was fascinated when the family home was built, and loved using the leftover bricks, concrete mesh and boxes to make mini homes. Later Karen-Lea had ambitions of being a stylist, this led to studying Interior Design instead. One of the highlights of her career was working for Nutrimetics as a Product Development Manager. Karen-Lea worked with colour cosmetics every day, which gave her extensive experience in being able to see the colours within a colour. Being there also taught Karen-Lea how to identify warm, cool and flow skin tones and colours best suited to each.
In 1999, Karen-Lea purchased a Heritage home in Dubbo. Over the 20 year long renovation project she gained a love, heaps of knowledge and an appreciation for the architecture and construction of homes built a century ago.
